When we moved in Sept, I couldn't justify painting the house since the previous owners recently painted the first floor. I tried really hard to make their color scheme work, but it was just not us. So.... a few weeks ago I grabbed my paint brush and went to town.
Hello...Gravity paint from Valspar!
Although, the red room was not the room I was painting.....
The foyer/ coat room/ laundry room actually received the first coat of Gravity paint. It gave the room a bright, fresh and clean feel.....that was when I started to think about the red room. Tony's suggestion was, " you should sleep on it." Yep, you guessed it.....Good bye Red....Hello Gravity...
Here is where we started on Sept 9th...moving day...
Part I (see all before pictures here)
Part II
The only change to the room is paint ($34) and three new pictures ($45).....
It now feels like our home...our style and for less then $80!
Now, if you were peeking through the door you might notice some changes taking place in the family room....
Before photo from Dec 2010
Not ready to share the whole room, but here is how it is looking today....
And I finally decided on fabric for the family room curtains....
Don't you love when your loose ends start to tie into a neat bow?

I Love the foyer color!!
I love what you did to the room, and love those black and white curtains!
I love those curtains, I have told you that before, but I just love them. I think everything is coming together so nicely Wendy in your new home! Enjoy...XO
Gorgeous!! And I just LOVE that paneling. Do you know if it's original to the home or something added later? It's kind of what I want to do in the baby room :)
Love the pictures, love the new paint. May have to head to Lowe's tomorrow to find that paint color! LOVE the new furniture and can't wait to see more! Love you too girl!!
You are so very design savvy! I love how you change the feel of every room in your home with a bucket of paint. Beautiful!! Your family is very lucky to have parents that create a warm, loving, inviting home to grow up in....and gourmet cooks to boot. Lucky, lucky children.
BEAUTIFUL transformations. I love the paint choice and I am really lovin those prints in your dinning room!! Have a great week, Martina
Good thing you slept on it as the results are magnificent. I love the colors you have chosen. That blueish gray is so pretty and all the changes have really brightened up the space. Fantastic! Have a great week. Tammy
Wow Wendy, I'm loving the new changes! The paint color you selected looks great. Your office area has a completely different feel to it - so calm and classy.
We have been in the same boat about our main floor paint colors. The previous owner had repainted everything right before we moved in and did a great job. We couldn't justify repainting everything right away. Now that some time has passed, I really think it's time for a new paint color. I'm really inspired after seeing your success!
Such a wonderful transformation! I'm loving that paint color! Would you say it is more gray or more blue? I love the way it looks with your beautiful paneling.
Wendy,
I think I've scrolled up and down ten times to take in all the befores and afters! I love them all! The new color in your study is the perfect match to your wall treatment. I love your shelf with displaying your white ware! The choice of fabric for the curtains... make each room complete! I like your choice of couch in the living room and am looking forward to seeing the whole room! Love it all!

My goodness gracious Wendy. It is stunning. When I first saw hello gravity, I thought you were referring to my age :)

Loved your redo and especially the black and white window treatments. I have some in my kitchen. This is my first visit to your site. I came via BNOTP.
I am going crazy trying to see into that family room! No matter how hard I try, I just can't see around that corner. :) I love the fabric for the curtains and can't wait to see that new furniture! The new hue of grayish blue is very nice, too (Dr. Seuss???).
I'm visiting from BNOTP. Love the changes you've made! I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see your family room. I guess I'll just have to follow your blog!
I do like the red in the foyer because the white makes it pop but not over power you
Looking great!
Some times you just have to stop trying to make it work and just redo it to make it your own.
Those three prints are great. I really like the fern on them.
Take Care,
Melissa
Hi Wendy! I am soooo glad you came to my blog and left a comment. I have found your blog and am so happy I did! I love your home and what you are doing to it. I think we have a few things in common. One thing I noticed was your tole tray hanging on the wall...I rarely see them displayed and I have a big collection and am trying to decide where or if I will hang them. I will be looking around your blog some more!!
It's gorgeous! I love the black shelves in the room with the white ironstone on it.
All the rooms are very beautiful!!
It's looking great....can't wait to see the final reveal of your family room. I have red walls I've been 'replacing' too. It's just paint, right? :)
Cool mirror in your entry!
Ok, I'm loving this transformation! From red to gray gives the room a WHOLE new personality. Love it!
Yes Yes YES! The color is perfect! Great choice.I also love the curtains. So pretty.
